CLOAKWORK 2024 TOUR : MEXICO

I’ve always loved incorporating storytelling into my artwork. This piece is my latest creation for the @hartoarte.fiau in Morelia. When I came across this mural, I noticed a bike parking space, and I immediately began brainstorming how to integrate the existing street elements into my design.

An adventurous boy finds himself in the midst of a thrilling lucha libre championship, but with a twist—two brave beetles are battling for the coveted corn trophy, a symbol of Mexican heritage. As the intense match unfolds, the queen bee adds flair from the sidelines, waving marigold flowers (cempasúchil) like pom-poms, rallying the crowd with her buzzing cheers. Above the ring, a firefly takes the role of the gaffer, casting a glowing spotlight on the action. It's a surreal and vibrant spectacle where culture, nature, and sports collide in the most unexpected and magical way!

Very grateful to be a part of this festival and special thanks to the Harto Arte Festival team @motick @chous_art & everyone for this amazing experience!

Piñata Boy 🪅

A piñata is a colorful, often animal-shaped container, typically made of papier-mâché, that is filled with candy or small toys. It is commonly used in celebrations like birthday parties, especially in Latin American cultures. The piñata is hung from a height, and participants, usually blindfolded, take turns trying to break it open with a stick. Once the piñata breaks, the treats inside are scattered for the guests to collect. It symbolizes the breaking of obstacles or the triumph of good over evil in some traditions.

SLP -> KL Express train 🚞🚈

Train graffiti is unauthorized artwork painted on trains, often colorful and creative. While some view it as self-expression, others see it as illegal vandalism. The artwork spreads as trains travel to different places.

Raccoons might look cute, but they're notorious for their mischievous antics, often getting into trouble by opening unlocked doors, invading neighbourhood, or even figuring out how to use spray paints — all while wearing their "bandit" masks, of course! 🦝🦝🦝
